A Timber & Tile Temptation

The contrast between texture and polish transports a hard-working primary bathroom into the realm of modern-rustic glamour.

1. Timbers can frame more than the house; they can border fixtures, such as the luxurious square whirlpool tub.

2. The central chandelier is streamlined and modern, playing off the space’s more rugged elements.

3. The porcelain tile wainscoting and tub surround boast a realistic wood grain pattern that pulls all the colors of the room together.

4. To accentuate the rich wood tones and keep the room light and bright, the bathroom’s large-format tile flooring, the tongue-and-groove-paneled ceiling and the walls are all clad in creamy white.

5. The cabinetry is stained a deep gray with brown undertones — a choice that allows the character of the wood to come through. The open shelving keeps towels and toiletries organized but accessible.
