Saving Face
While most of the sides of your island will be composed of cabinet doors, drawers and possibly appliances, how about a decorative look for the side of the island that faces out into the great room? Create continuity by using materials from your great room such as beadboard, wainscoting or manufactured stone. Of course, logs are a natural choice, too.
