A Minnesota Timber Home

Minnesota Timber Home Exterior
Three acres of woods and wetlands surrounding the Martinsons' home posed a challenge for transporting the timbers to the job site.

Minnesota Timber Home Great Room
You won't find drywall or painted finishes in the Martinsons' timber home—just the natural beauty of wood. A pair of craftsmen from Bruce Prevost Construction did all the tongue-and-groove surfaces throughout the home.

Minnesota Timber Home Dining Room
Dan and Heidi love to cook, so they wanted their kitchen to be both functional and beautiful. A large center island provides ample space for food preparation and dining.

Minnesota Timber Home Dining Room
The gorgeous timbers provide plenty of inspiration for dinner conversation in the dining area. The frame is constructed from carefully selected standing-dead Douglas fir timbers, complemented by beautiful tiger wood flooring.

Minnesota Timber Home Bedroom
The master suite is a dream retreat, though Dan wishes it were a little bigger to accomodate a king-sized bed. One of the most eye-catching design elements is the half-wall separating the sleeping quarters from the bathroom.

Minnesota Timber Bathroom
The half-wall dividing the master bath from the bedroom allows the beauty of the timber frame above to define the space. A peek into the bedroom beyond reveals a door leading to a secluded balcony for the homeowners.

Minnesota Timber Home Bar
The home's lower level boasts plenty of living and entertaining space, comprising a sophisticated wet bar, sauna, workout room, wine cellar, media room and two bedrooms.
